Bobby Jindal Response to Obama

Initially, I was going to do my own response to the Obamessiah's speech last night - at least that was the thought last night before I actually watched it. My head damned near exploded with all the lies and crap he was spewing that if I was to attempt to go over one of them here again - It just might really explode.

Instead - it appears the AP already prepared the responses detailing all of his lies. BTW - in case no one knows it - America DID NOT invent the car. It was Karl Benz - a Germany - you know - the Mercedes-Benz. You can follow that link there and see for yourselves.

However, the best speech of the night came from Louisiana Governor, Bobby Jindal. In case you did not see it - I have it here for you. Enjoy the real Conservative voice of reason.

I was wondering where you went Pauly. How bout them STILLERS!!!!

Oh and please tell me you're joking about Jindal... that speech was terrible!

He sounded like he was talking to a group of kindergartners, number one.

Number two - his argument was that the government, Bush, messed up in Katrina (wow Bush messing up in a crisis situation that's a crazy thought - the dude traded Sammy Sosa for crying out loud! Then Sammy hit like 600 homeruns over the next 12 or so years!) and because of that instead of fixing the government to prevent it from happening again we should just... accept that government is broken and will always suck?

Well, I am a libertarian, so I guess I do kind of already feel like that... but it just sounds so depressing! And it's a terribly unprogressive argument lol.

Hey Pauly, welcome back! Love the new look!
I put you back on my blogroll. I encourage you to drop and comment on my blog as often as you can and i will do the same.
I didn't bother listening to Nobama's speech, but i agree with guitarman that Jindal sucked. He sounded like a cross between Fred Rogers (Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood) and Rush Limbaugh, 2 people i could never stand. But then, i can't stand Jindal in general because he's too conservative for me. Give me the centrist pragmatism of Bill Clinton (or the grand eloquence and tough leadership of the Gippper) anytime!
But at least we can agree that Nobama pretty much sucks. I voted for the McCain/Palin ticket and i have yet to regret my decision.

Thanks for stopping in and dropping Pehpot - I'll return the favor.

SKW - Go Stillers! Yes, it was a very happy day in the household when they won...got a little hairy there in the end.

To both you and Mark - there is a very substantive message in what Jindal had to say. Re Katrina - I think you guys are missing the boat on that one - It is NOT the Federal government's job to step in during an emergency crisis like this. It is a state issue and the state has to request the assistance. Bush called up both Nagin and the then-Governor 3 days in advance and told them to evacuate. He also told them to call immediately if they need emergency assistance. The Governor did not ask for FEMA help until 3 days AFTER Katrina hit. Bush did not mess it up - Louisiana Democrats messed it up.

Regarding the fact it hasn't been repaired and rebuilt - again - that is Nagan's fault. Ray Nagan has already been given the millions towards improving the Levy's and to rebuild - but - he hasn't been using it. Again - NOT Bush's fault.

He wasn't implying necessarily that government is broken and we should just accept that. He was trying to stress the point of the power of the individual. It should always be the individual over government. If government is broken - the best way to fix it is by the people. Only we individuals can change government and it is our strength that provides the help we all need - not to wait for the government to bail you out.

Guitarman - as you are a Libertarian surely I would have thought you would have gotten that message out of it.

Mark - Bill Clinton? ptew! You're lucky I didn't delete your comment for that one! :)

left leaning libertarian mind you pauly (I know man, it seems messed up in my head sometimes too - but not nearly as messed up as the dems and the repubs so called plans for our country).

Pauly T. Kal said...

Well - SKW - I can't disagree with you on that notion. I'm conservative first, republican second. I'm seriously considering going independent if the Repubs don't change. As for Dems - I've never agreed with their direction. I do like some of what you Libertarians stand for - however - it is your very liberal stances on some of the issues that keeps me away.

Gov. Jindal has a bright future in the GOP if we can get the moderates and Rinos out of the way.

Pauly T. Kal said...

I think so too, Casey. Actually, I can picture a Jindal/Palin or Palin/Jindal ticket in 2012. That would REALLY drive those guys on the left apeshit!

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying he was a great president, but I did like some of the things he did regarding the budget and the economy and I thought he was a pragmatist. Of course, other things he did weren't so good but i don't think i need to tell you them!

I think a Jindal/Palin or vs. versa ticket would be great. Obama's next four years would be a shoo in.

Pauly T. Kal said...

I wouldn't bank on that Mommy given the fact that Obama - in just a little over 30 days - has tripled the deficit that he inherited. He's bringing this country down in a hurry. He probably won't last 4 years. Any ticket against Obama will win.

Hey pauly I have a rant that you could get behind.

http://newsday.today.com/2009/02/26/i-think-what-were-all-looking-for-here-is-some-logic/

Lemme know what you think. This is a huge issue that we're going to have to face.

The speech might have had a good point... less government waste, but in watching it he seemed wooden. Being a great speaker is unfortunately make it or break it in today's world but a few less simple country homilies would have gone farther I think.

So this is where you're writing fiction now.

If you guys really want to be taken seriously as the proponents of smaller government, you have to start by taking government out of marriage, abortion, and drug control. We'll even let you guys keep your guns. But for the record, I would love to see Tina Fey and Mr. Rogers on a 2012 ticket; SNL isn't funny right now.

I'll be by SKW

Harrison - gotta agree there. That is evidenced with Bush. He was a horrible speaker which I believe is why confidence in GWOT went spiraling down. He did not clearly communicate to the people. We'll see what happens there.

Bill - glad to see you found me! When I say I'm a staunch conservative - that is in reference to following the constitution and keeping government limited. I will have to agree with you on taking government out of marriage, abortion, and drugs. These are all state issues according to the constitution that the people have the right to vote on. I'm not one of those right-wing religious zealots. Religion doesn't belong in government either.

Glad you found me!

How is saying americans invented the car a lie? Sounds more like an error.

Also is there some republican pary bylaw that says all members must carry on the myth of the cult of obama? I hope, for the sake of your reputation, that you never objected to liberal pundits calling bush a chimp or war criminal. Otherwise you would be a hypocrite.

Either show us examples of these "lies" (preferably without linking to the heritage foundation, world net daily, or one news now) or at least put a link to the AP article you mention.
